Independent Director (Education)
Kala has been in education management and L&D for the past 25 years, working in several senior management and executive director roles across Dubai and Australia. She started her career as a high school teacher, then managed franchises and training companies in Dubai and moved to Australia in 2000.
As an executive director she is able to drive strategic operational effectiveness and is capable of working with a diverse workforce to deliver services that support the entire organisation, including planning and performance, risk management, business continuity, safety, communications, ministerial and executive services, asset management, finance and people and culture.
Having worked overseas across three countries, she has experience within relevant industries such as government, telecommunications, engineering, mining, construction or transport and the ability to manage commercial and operational drivers that impact corporate services. She was a delegate in the first Australian Future Skills Mission to India in April 2023 with the Australian Trade and Investment Mission [Austrade] and then subsequently led a BSI Learning mission to India in June 2023 as its CEO, to launch transnational education programs in India.
